Nestled in the vibrant heart of Kiyosumi, Tokyo, Tallskogen is not just another café – it’s a delightful escape for those seeking a fusion of exceptional coffee, intricately crafted foods, and a cozy atmosphere brimming with passion. As soon as you step through the door, you’re greeted by the charming decor and the warm, inviting scent of fresh brews and baked goods that beckons you to explore the menu.

At Tallskogen, every cup of coffee tells a story. Known for their strong and meticulously prepared brews, it’s no wonder customers rave about the rich, aromatic drinks served here. One satisfied patron, M.E., exclaimed, “Amazing service and food! Felt nice to have strong coffee in Tokyo for once.” That’s what you can expect – not just coffee, but a truly revitalizing experience.

The café also takes pride in its beautifully crafted food offerings, especially their sensational rye bread and house-made granola that Emma Sullivan adored. “The owner has some very special oils and breads,” she says, likening the café to “a little laboratory of taste.” This speaks volumes to the passion that permeates every dish served. Be sure to try their cardamom bun, although Daria P mentions it’s a small treat, the flavor-packed punch makes it worthwhile. A small note for future visitors: the selection of sweets varies, so it might require a touch of patience to find your favorites!

The atmosphere at Tallskogen is intimate and welcoming, making it a lovely place to unwind, whether you choose to cozy up inside, where the chatter of familiar faces fills the air, or sit outside under the Tokyo sun as Daniel found so enjoyable. The café’s appeal isn’t just in its offerings; it’s also its vibrant ambiance created by a passionate Swedish-Japanese couple who run the place. Triene Biene captured the essence perfectly, noting their enthusiasm for fermentation and unique creations displayed through delightful visuals in her photos. You’ll feel like you’ve stumbled upon a hidden gem – a personal sanctuary of taste that embraces you as one of its own.

Whether you’re a traveler needing a caffeine boost, a local looking for high-quality fare, or anyone in between, Tallskogen promises a memorable culinary encounter. Join the community of delighted customers and make this café your stop for a taste of something special in Tokyo.

A lovely little cafe serving beautifully crafted food. The bread is particularly special, we were dying for rye bread and granola after a few weeks travelling! The owner has some very special oils and breads- like a little laboratory of taste. Thanks Tallskogen.

Nice little Cafe! Very nice staff and good coffee. It was very warm so I could sit outside. Inside seems to be a place where friends of the owner come. A bit awkward if you are just a passer by. Coffee is small and a bit pricy for Tokyo

Not very big but nice and cosy cafe. Cardamom bun is super small but also very small, unfortunately. I would love to come again and try more stuff. Giving this place only 4 stars because except for the buns, which they have on specific days, other sweets they have when they feel like making them and for a customer it is not convenient.

Lovely small coffee place in Kiyosumi Shirakawa. They do lots of fermentation things as you can see on my pictures. It’s run by a Swedish- Japanese couple and they love what they do!

Randomly saw this cafe and decided to stop by for a drink and a little pastry They are so nice, the drinks were good and the vegan cinnamon roll was really tasty The inside is very cozy but small so we sat outside and had a great time Totally recommend to stop by if you’re in the area
